Program Features

The Weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a part-time second degree program for graduates of another bachelor’s program who want to change to a nursing career.

Key facts:

  • 67 credits of coursework in nursing and health science designed to equip you for patient care and initial licensure in nursing.
  • Year-round weekend study based at our Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania campus near Philadelphia. You will take courses on Saturdays and Sundays during the day, and on some Fridays and online.
  • Preparation for the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN).

Admissions Requirements

Our Weekend BSN program is a second degree program. To apply, you must hold a bachelor’s degree in another field. We will consider you for admission if you:

  • Submit official transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions, including unofficial High School transcript
  • Earned a bachelor’s degree at a regionally-accredited college or university
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Submit a personal statement
  • Demonstrate evidence of successful completion of prerequisite course requirements with a “C+” or better in science courses; all prerequisite courses must be successfully completed prior to starting the programs; you do not need to have your prerequisites completed before you apply, but the majority should be completed, at least four science prerequisite courses, before an admissions decision can be made.
  • Have completed all science prerequisite courses, including Nutrition (with a “C+” or better), within the last seven years; statistics and Developmental Psychology must be completed within the last ten years, with a passing grade.

Once you are admitted to the program, you will need to:

  • Pass a criminal background and child abuse records check
  • Undergo a drug screening and FBI fingerprinting
  • Provide a certificate of health from a family physician or nurse practitioner that includes immunization information
  • Obtain a yearly flu vaccination, COVID vaccination and booster, and PPD screening
  • Provide proof of CPR certification, liability insurance, and personal health insurance
Tuition and Fees

Estimated 2024-2025 costs: $700 per credit hour

Weekend Bachelor of Science in Nursing ($46,900 for the complete 67-credit program)
