Admissions Cycle

The DNP program enrolls new students two times a year, each spring and fall.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants to the Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing and Health Professions DNP program must meet the following requirements:

  • A master’s degree in advanced practice nursing (APRN) from an institution accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Nursing Education or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education with a graduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
  • Completed online application.
  • Satisfactory achievement on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
    • Waived for applicants with a graduate GPA of 3.5 or greater.
  • Current professional certification as an APRN.
  • Official, sealed transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
  • Undergraduate Statistics course equivalent to three semester hours.
  • Undergraduate and graduate Physical Health Assessment courses.
  • Current RN licensure in one of the 50 states or U.S. territories.
  • Copy of current professional liability insurance.
  • Resume/CV reflecting a minimum of two years prior clinical experience as an APRN.
    • Recent graduates may apply but APRN certification must be obtained before beginning clinicals.
  • Three letters of reference from other APRNs (one may be from a physician).
  • Personal Goal Statement.
  • Personal interview once application is complete.
Tuition and Fees

Estimated 2024-2025 costs: $1026 per credit hour

Doctor of Nursing Practice ($40,014 for the complete 39-credit program)
