The DNP program enrolls new students two times a year, each spring and fall.
Applicants to the Frances M. Maguire School of Nursing and Health Professions DNP program must meet the following requirements:
- A master’s degree in advanced practice nursing (APRN) from an institution accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Nursing Education or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education with a graduate cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above.
- Completed online application.
- Satisfactory achievement on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
- Waived for applicants with a graduate GPA of 3.5 or greater.
- Current professional certification as an APRN.
- Official, sealed transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
- Undergraduate Statistics course equivalent to three semester hours.
- Undergraduate and graduate Physical Health Assessment courses.
- Current RN licensure in one of the 50 states or U.S. territories.
- Copy of current professional liability insurance.
- Resume/CV reflecting a minimum of two years prior clinical experience as an APRN.
- Recent graduates may apply but APRN certification must be obtained before beginning clinicals.
- Three letters of reference from other APRNs (one may be from a physician).
- Personal Goal Statement.
- Personal interview once application is complete.
Estimated 2024-2025 costs: $1026 per credit hour
